11 May Dr. Ben Carson Day At WA
On Wednesday, May 10, we had the privilege of having Dr. Ben Carson on campus to speak to students in grades K–12. Dr. Carson has served as the Secretary of Housing and Urban Development and the Chief of Pediatric Neurosurgery at Johns Hopkins Hospital, among many other accomplishments. In 2016, Dr. Carson accepted the position of Secretary of Housing and Urban Development under the Trump administration. After completing his tenure as the 17th Secretary of the Department of Housing and Urban Development in 2021, Dr. Carson founded the American Cornerstone Institute. This organization is focused on fighting for the principles that have guided him through life and that make this country great: faith, liberty, community, and life.
While on campus, Dr. Carson met with the pre-med club and spoke at three separate division-level assemblies throughout the day, sharing stories about his life and inspiring students to “think big.” We would like to thank Dr. Ben Carson and Mrs. Carson for spending the day at WA!
