The Band program at Westminster Academy fosters artistic excellence and spiritual growth. Beginning in grade six, students can develop their musical talents through lessons in instruments, music theory, and ensemble performance. Students learn a variety of instruments, perform in concerts, and compete in events. The WA Band program not only focuses on musical skills but also views music as a form of worship and an expression of faith. Through uplifting performances, students connect with God and their community, enriching their education and spiritual journey.
The program features four performing ensembles with over a hundred middle and high school musicians, keeping a busy schedule with performances from local concerts to international tours. Highlights include concert tours to places like Cuba, Puerto Rico, Costa Rica, Honduras, Mexico, Ecuador, Colorado, and Washington, D.C., as well as performances at popular venues like Walt Disney World and Universal Studios. The band has also been featured on national TV, performed at Focus on the Family, and appeared on worldwide radio broadcasts. Additionally, they’ve had the honor of performing for U.S. Presidents and Vice Presidents. The Westminster Academy Band program is dedicated to community outreach through their performances, making a positive impact in our local community and throughout the world.
