A Word From Dr. Satterly—December 15, 2022

Dear WA Community,

One thing that marks the Christmas season is tradition. At our house, we have old family ornaments that must go on the tree, the making of spritz cookies, and the Christmas morning scripture reading. Our family reads John 1:1–18 as we consider the wonder and good news of Christmas—the gift of salvation through the birth of Jesus Christ. John writes that “the true light, which gives light to everyone, was coming into the world.” In this way, the coming of the Christ fulfilled the promise in Isaiah 9:2, “the people living in darkness have seen a great light.” It is hard to imagine a more important time for that light to shine.

God has positioned our school to be a light in the darkness. Since 1971, Westminster Academy has equipped covenant students to excel by using their gifts and talents for God’s glory. Westminster Academy has over 4,000 alumni, many of whom are shining brightly in every sphere of society. Yet, less than 5% of students in America are receiving a Christ-centered education. Your support of our Annual Fund helps us fulfill our mission. Your tax-deductible donation may be mailed to the school or made online at wa.edu/donate.

Westminster Academy is well-known for its commitment to academic rigor and faith formation. It’s what sets us apart from other South Florida schools. Students are challenged to become exceptional thinkers, lifelong learners, and influential leaders with a biblical worldview for college and life. This is good news since such a worldview is largely absent in the public square.

Please prayerfully consider a year-end gift as we raise up the next generation of Christian leaders who represent the Westminster Academy Portrait of a Graduate—those who are Christ-followers, community builders, compassionate contributors, critical thinkers, and committed to excellence.

We are so grateful to all those who have already supported our mission through a financial gift this year.

Merry Christmas!
