18 Jan WA Athletics Update
There have been some exciting moments in WA athletics as we said “goodbye” to 2023 and “hello” to 2024. The Lions Competitive Cheer team won their division at the National Christian Cheerleading Championships in Orlando! It’s been nine years since WA’s last competitive cheer competition, and we’re so proud of their strong first season! A special thank you to all of the coaches and to the cheer athletes for making this happen! Way to make WA proud, Lady Lions!
Our Lions Basketball teams spent the majority of their holiday breaks competing in high-level tournaments not only in the state but across the country. Our Lady Lions played at the Tampa Bay Christmas Invitational, where they competed against high-level teams from out of state to help prepare them for the tough postseason road ahead. Our Men’s team played in some of the nation’s top tournaments, including the City of Palms Classic in Fort Myers and the King Cotton Holiday Classic in Arkansas, and just recently traveled to Dayton, Ohio, where they competed at the Flying to the Hoop Invitational. GO LIONS!!!
