2024 Fall Athletics Season Highlights

We are very proud of our WA Athletes. Here is a recap from the 2024 Fall Season:

Cheer: The Lions Cheer team packed a full schedule all fall, leading into the Winter season with Sideline Cheer while also diving into Competition practices. This was the largest squad the program has had in several years, and we appreciate the time and hard work the girls put into all of their memorable and impressive routines!

Ladies’ Cross Country: District Champions and Regional Champions. Competing in the State meet this Saturday, November 16, at Apalachee Regional Park in Tallahassee.

Men’s Cross Country: District Champions and Regional Champions. Competing in the State meet this Saturday, November 16, at Apalachee Regional Park in Tallahassee.

Football: The team finished the season with five memorable wins, highlighted by significant victories against Glades Day School and Evangelical Christian. The team made it to the playoffs in the Top-tier bracket.

Golf: The Lady Lions Golf team placed 3rd in the District tournament and made it to the Regional match. The Men’s team was the Annual WA/CCA Cup Champions!

Ladies’ Swim & Dive: The Ladies’ 200 Free Relay with Siri Deenah, Danielle Gordon, Markeli Jones-Tynes, and Marley Scott qualified for the State Meet in Ocala this Friday, November 15, which is the first time a Ladies’ relay team has been a State qualifier for the program in several years. The team also had a total of 10 regional qualifiers.

Men’s Swim & Dive: The Men’s 200 Free Relay received 2nd Place in Districts (Christian Clark, Dane Fox, Kyle Gayle, and Abram Johnson) and were also Regional Runner-Up while qualifying for the State Meet this Friday, November 15, in Ocala. The 400 Free relay was Regional Runner-Up (Christian Clark, Abram Johnson, Chris Bennett, and Kyle Gayle). Christian Clark placed 3rd individually in the 50 free and 100 free in both Districts and Regionals.

Volleyball: The Lady Lions Volleyball team finished the season with a 16-9 record, a District Champion title, and made it to the Regional Semifinals. The squad also won their division at the Arizona Nike Tournament of Champions.
