13 Nov PK4 Veterans Day Red, White & Blue Parade
For 36 years, Westminster Academy’s PK4 students have proudly participated in the beloved Red, White, and Blue Bike Parade in honor of Veterans Day. This longstanding tradition allows our youngest students to celebrate the day in a meaningful way, decorating their bikes with patriotic stars, stripes, and American flags before riding through the Lower School hallways and gym.
This year, we were honored to have two parade Grand Marshals: our favorite Lion, Westy, and our Veterans Day Chapel speaker, WA alumnus David Carter ’14, now serving as the PCA Army Chaplain with the 2nd Battalion, 87th Infantry Regiment at Fort Drum, New York. He was recently deployed with his infantry battalion to Northern Syria. The grades 6–8 Drumline kept the beat as the students rolled through the parade route.
The event brings joy to students and teachers and serves as a reminder of the significance of honoring our nation’s veterans. As the parade passes through the school, cheers and smiles fill the halls, reinforcing the importance of patriotism and respect for those who have served. Westminster Academy is proud to keep this tradition alive, passing down the values of gratitude and pride to the next generation. (For more parade photos, please see the album on Facebook.)
