Fine Arts Shine at All-State Performances

Westminster Academy Fine Arts students shined brightly at the Florida Music Education Association Professional Development Conference and 2025 All-State concerts, held January 8–11 in Tampa, Florida. These prestigious events bring together top talent from across the state to rehearse and perform under the direction of guest conductors.

Congratulations to Abry Kennicott (seventh grade), who performed with the Middle School Honors Orchestra. After a rigorous audition process in the fall, Abry was selected in November and prepared for this extraordinary experience. Students rehearsed intensively over two days before delivering a remarkable concert under the direction of Nancy Beebe from Bak Middle School of the Arts in Palm Beach County.

The orchestra’s program included:

The Star-Spangled Banner by John Stafford Smith, arr. Charles “Bud” Caputo
March of the Meistersingers from the Opera “Die Meistersinger” by Richard Wagner, arr. Sandra Dackow
Tango d’Amour by Susan H. Day
Ablaze by Chris M. Bernotas
Deep River by American Spiritual, arr. Robert S. Frost
Coiled by Bob Lipton, Ed. by J. Cameron Law
Congratulations to Liam Pace (tenth grade), who earned a spot in the TTBB Florida All-State Chorus after three competitive audition rounds this fall. His hard work and dedication culminated in an outstanding performance at this prestigious event. The chorus was directed by Dr. Trent R. Brown, the Director of Choirs and Professor of Music at Florida Gulf Coast University.

The chorus program featured:

If You Can Walk, You Can Dance by Elizabeth Alexander
Jewett by R.F.M. Mann arr. Aaron Humble
Good Night, Dear Heart by Dan Forrest
Widerspruch by Franz Schubert (arr. Shaw/Parker)
Revelation by Z. Randall Stroope

Westminster Academy and the Fine Arts department are incredibly proud of these students’ achievements and dedication to music excellence. Bravo, Abry and Liam!
