We’re cheering on two of our own as they hit the big stage in the NCAA Tournament!
Westminster Academy is proud to share that two former WA Men’s Basketball players are competing in March Madness this year—a testament to their talent, hard work, and foundation built here at WA.
Chase Johnston ’19 – High Point University
- Currently playing for High Point in the NCAA Tournament
- Originally signed with Purdue University Fort Wayne
- WA Highlights:
- Set a national high school record with 523 career 3-pointers
- An integral part of WA’s 3-peat State Championship teams
- Named Player of the Year
Jaylen Carey ’23 – Vanderbilt University
- Currently playing for Vanderbilt in the NCAA Tournament
- Originally signed with James Madison University
- WA Highlights:
- Averaged 16 points, 10.2 rebounds, and 3.5 assists per game
- Multiple-time All-County selection
- Team captain and key player on WA’s highly ranked teams
