Congratulations to WA senior, Samuel Seeman, on advancing to the Finalist standing in the 2024 National Merit Scholarship Program! High school students enter the National Merit Scholarship Program by taking the Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT), which serves as an initial screen of over 1.3 million entrants each year. As a National Merit Scholarship Finalist, Samuel represents less than one percent of high school seniors in the United States! Students in fourth grade took a trip to the oldest city in the U.S., known for its Spanish colonial architecture and rich history. Day one included the Castillo de San Marcos National Monument, the Old Jail, the Heritage Museum, the General Store, and a walking tour visiting historical landmarks around the city. On day two, visits included the Old Town Trolley Tour, the Military Hospital, the Lightner Museum featuring an immersive experience of art, architecture, history, and design, and then the Potters Wax Museum, which is the first established wax museum in the country. Students learned quite a bit about historical events...
