The 2022 spring sports season is almost here, with tryouts and start dates just around the corner. Every student-athlete must have a completed athletic physical form turned in before trying out. If your student-athlete is playing a WA Winter sport that overlaps with the dates and times below, please communicate their intentions to their winter and spring coaches. Congratulations to WA Alumnus Michael A. Taylor from the Class of 2009 for receiving his first Gold Glove Award! We are proud of his work and accomplishments. The Westminster Academy Alumni Association and Athletic Department honored Taylor in February of 2020 by retiring his baseball jersey #3. Never again will another student-athlete represent WA on the baseball field with #3. Previously, the Alumni Association inducted Taylor into Westminster Academy’s Athletic Hall of Honor in 2015. The MS Volleyball (Red) team ended their season with a 1st-place finish in the South Florida Middle School League Tournament. On Tuesday, October 12, the team defeated Somerset Miramar in the Semifinal game in two sets and then faced the University School Sharks on Thursday, October 14, where they stole the victory 2–0 after two very tight sets. Congratulations to the Middle School Volleyball team! The Junior Varsity Volleyball team took second place in a competitive end-of-season tournament hosted by Alonzo Mourning High School. The Westminster Academy Athletic Hall of Honor was established in 2014 to honor the men and women who have made outstanding contributions to the WA Athletic program during our 50-year history. The mighty Lions have been blessed by a distinguished athletic legacy, and we want to recognize and honor some of our exceptional alumni, coaches, and contributors who were instrumental in the success of our athletic program. Registration is now open for the Lions Athletic Club Golf Tournament presented by Audi Fort Lauderdale on Monday, September 27!
