After having their seasons cut short due to COVID last year, our spring sports teams have all certainly taken advantage of the lost time. We'd like to recognize the following teams and individuals for their strong postseason performances. Our Varsity Lions Soccer teams both shared successful 2020-2021 seasons highlighted by their District and Regional titles. The teams earned the privilege of hosting their State Semifinal games on Friday, February 26, against The Canterbury School from Fort Myers. Although the Lions came up short, it does not take away from the memorable and impressive seasons they had. The Lady Lions finished their season with a 12-5-2 record with big victories over The King's Academy, Calvary Christian, and the South Florida Heat. Westminster Academy Men's Basketball alumnus, Paul Atkinson '17, was the 2019-2020 Ivy League Player of the Year at Yale University. Atkinson announced that after graduation from Yale this spring he will be a grad transfer and eligible to play for Notre Dame next season. He selected Notre Dame from a Top 5 that included: University of Kansas, North Carolina State, Stanford University, University of Texas, and the University of Miami.
