The Lions Athletic Club (LAC) offers WA Parent 2’ x 3’ Banners for $500 for the 2023–24 academic year on the east or west campus. 100% of the proceeds will be used to support athletics. We also have a variety of Corporate Sponsorship Packages available for the 2023–24 academic year. Congratulations to Mr. Chris Clements for receiving the South Florida Business Journal’s 2023 CFO Award! Mr. Clements is the Senior VP and CFO for the Miami Dolphins, Hard Rock Stadium, and Miami Grand Prix. Varsity Softball—Congratulations to the Varsity Softball team for ending their season as District Champions, defeating Boca Christian 15–0. They finished the season with a 19–7 record. Varsity Baseball—Congratulations to the Varsity Baseball team as they became District Champions defeating Sagemont 14–10. They won their Regional Quarterfinal game and will advance to the Regional Semifinal game, where they will play John Carroll High School on Friday, May 12, at 6:00 p.m. at the Lawnwood Baseball Complex in Fort Pierce. Special thanks to the Varsity Cheer squad for all the spirit they brought to the basketball games. They did an amazing job pumping up our Lions fans and creating an exciting atmosphere at the games all season! The men's Soccer team played a challenging schedule this season to help prepare them for postseason play. Unfortunately, they came up short in the District finals with a tight loss against Highlands Christian in overtime. Last week was full of school spirit in honor of Winter Court with dress-up days, hallway decorations, the Winter Court presentation in the Upper School chapel, and Friday’s pep rally. All festivities led up to the WA Lions basketball game on Saturday, February 4, against Saint John Paul II Eagles. The Lions, who rank #3 in their division, defeated the Eagles 78–56.
