Last month the WA Junior Thespians spent the weekend in Orlando for the State competition. They attended various theater and dance workshops on Friday and took in a performance of the Broadway show “Newsies” that evening. On Saturday, they competed in various theatrical events in front of a panel of judges. They were striving to be awarded the titles of “Excellent” or “Superior.” The troupe celebrated their accomplishments at an awards dinner on Saturday evening and then a trip to Universal Studios! Our annual dinner auction, Chart the Course, presented by Benedetti Orthodontics, will be held on Friday, April 14, at 6:30 p.m. at the Coral Ridge Yacht Club. Save the date for this exciting evening of fellowship and fundraising for our school. Ticket sales begin March 1. This is the largest fundraising event of the year, so please get involved! The Lions Parent Association will host a fishing tournament on Friday, March 31. The tournament will begin at 7:30 a.m. from the Hillsboro Inlet. Weigh-ins will be from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Sands Harbor Resort & Marina, followed by an awards ceremony at 4:00 p.m. You may use your own boat or join us on a drift boat that will be available. Effective as of January 1, Dr. Ron Farrar has been promoted to the position of Assistant Headmaster in addition to his role as Upper School Principal.
