Every year, the National Football Foundation hosts the Brian Piccolo Awards Banquet. This awards dinner pays tribute to the late Brian Piccolo, a standout football player for St. Thomas Aquinas, Wake Forest, and in the NFL with the Chicago Bears. In addition, it gathers 41 senior student-athletes from Broward County schools who excel both academically and on the football field. This morning, Shawn Cerra from the Brian Piccolo Chapter of the National Football Foundation joined us on campus to share that WA senior Anthony Barbar was selected as the 2024 overall winner of the Brian Piccolo Award. We are excited about the fun-filled summer we’ve planned for our campers in preschool through those going into sixth grade in the fall! Camp WA offers a wide range of structured activities that are age-appropriate and loads of fun! This activities-based camp is open to children turning two before September 1 through those going into sixth grade in the fall. Congratulations to our WA District 7 Thespian Troupe 8570 for their outstanding performances at the 2024 Florida State Thespian competition in Tampa. We are excited to announce that all high school students who performed received an excellent or superior rating! In addition to their performance pieces, the students participated in various workshops and watched two fabulous mainstage performances of Newsies and The Miracle Worker.
