Welcome to the 2023–2024 winter athletic season! Below, you will find a list of the winter sport tryout dates and contact information for each coach. Bus transportation will be offered to and from the west campus athletic complex for student-athletes daily and will depart at 3:15 p.m. Every student-athlete must have a completed athletic physical turned in before they try out. We are using the SportsWareOnLine system again this year for athletic physicals. Special thanks to the Varsity Cheer squad for all the spirit they brought to the basketball games. They did an amazing job pumping up our Lions fans and creating an exciting atmosphere at the games all season! The men's Soccer team played a challenging schedule this season to help prepare them for postseason play. Unfortunately, they came up short in the District finals with a tight loss against Highlands Christian in overtime. Last week was full of school spirit in honor of Winter Court with dress-up days, hallway decorations, the Winter Court presentation in the Upper School chapel, and Friday’s pep rally. All festivities led up to the WA Lions basketball game on Saturday, February 4, against Saint John Paul II Eagles. The Lions, who rank #3 in their division, defeated the Eagles 78–56. As we begin the second semester, we have some exciting dates to look forward to: January 13: Coffee with the LPA—Our Next Coffee with the LPA will be on January 13 from 8–9 a.m. in the DeVos Chapel (northeast corner of Coral Ridge Presbyterian Church). It is that time of year when our WA Alumni take on the faculty for our annual co-ed basketball game. Winners get bragging rights and the Lion Knockout Trophy for a year. The game will be held immediately following our Varsity Men's Basketball Winter Court game which will be held on Saturday, February 4, at 7 p.m. All alumni are invited to come out as players or fans.
