Parking, Drop-Off & Pick-Up

Please drive carefully and slowly on campus while parking, or for drop-off and pick-up. For safety reasons, please do not drop your child(ren) off on 22nd Avenue or 56th Street. Cell phone use is prohibited while in the car line. Please ensure your car tags are visible when you arrive on campus.

Students should be in the classroom ready to learn at 8:00 a.m. It is recommended to arrive in the car line between 7:30 and 7:50 a.m. to ensure your student is in the classroom on time, as students not in class by 8:00 a.m. will be considered tardy. Please note the attendance and tardy policies within our WA Family Handbook. Also, in the event that students have doctor’s appointments before the end of the school day, they should be picked up 30 minutes before dismissal time.

  • PK2 & PK3*

  • Please drop off and pick up your child in front of prekindergarten classrooms at Coral Ridge (Federal Highway entrance). Teachers and assistants will be there to help your child exit/enter your vehicle. Please park in the designated areas if you need to walk your child to class.

  • PK4–Grade 5*

  • Please enter the car line from 22nd Avenue only from the north during peak traffic times. The gate opens at 7:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. Please remain patient and pull carefully behind the car in front of you. If you are waiting along 22nd Avenue, please be courteous and careful not to block our neighbors’ driveways. Someone will greet you curbside and help your child safely exit/enter your vehicle.

  • Grades 6–12

  • Please drop off and pick up your child in the designated area behind Coral Ridge Presbyterian Church. Parents of students in grades 6–12 should drop off through the WA driveway if a student in grade 5 or below is in the vehicle.

*Please observe the specific instructions for identifying your car so that the teachers and assistants can assist you smoothly. If you desire to park at any time, please note the places designated on the map and check in at the Welcome Center. Please refrain from having a parent-teacher conference from the car. All students in prekindergarten through grade 5 who are not picked up by 3:15 p.m. will be enrolled in CASA, after-school care until parents arrive. At 3:15 p.m., CASA charges will apply.

Severe Weather Procedures For Grades 6–12

(Drop-off and pick-up remain the same for students in PK2–Grade 5)

Please familiarize yourself with the following procedures used in severe weather conditions—close lightning, strong winds, massive rain downpours, etc. Westminster Academy will do its best to communicate with you about arrival and dismissal changes. These changes are for identified severe weather and/or flooding around campus.

Morning Drop-Off

  • Please enter through the open gate at 22nd Avenue and use the car line drop-off along the north side of the school building. Signage will indicate this change.
  • We realize that this may make students late for class. Therefore, tardies will not be given.

Afternoon Pick-Up

  • Please enter through the open gate at 22nd Avenue and use the car line at 3:15 p.m.
  • Student drivers will be dismissed when facilities indicate that crossing 56th Street to their cars is safe.

PK2 and PK3 students remain in the same designated areas regardless of the weather.

PK4 through grade 5 parents will proceed through the regular car line to the circular drive in front of the gymnasium. The children will be waiting in the gymnasium and escorted to your car. Please have your car tag displayed to expedite this process.

If the weather forecast includes poor weather during the day, please have your child prepared for it. Ponchos, umbrellas, and a change of shoes may be helpful. If severe weather presents an immediate threat to student and faculty safety (e.g., tornados, lightning, and high winds), students will be kept indoors until it is safe to dismiss. We understand that these procedures will take additional time. We appreciate your cooperation and patience, as your child’s safety is our utmost concern.

Student Vehicles

Students may park in the designated student spaces shown on the Parking, Drop-Off & Pick-Up Map above. Student drivers must operate their vehicles safely, maturely, and responsibly and comply with school and public traffic regulations, including but not limited to speed, noise, and courtesy. While the school will take precautions to safeguard vehicles, there is no assumption of liability by the school for any loss or damage which may occur while a vehicle is parked on campus.
